Dumping JaguarPC in favor of ?

been with them for years but the site outages have gotten out of hand. my site has been down for 12 hours so far and this is the third time in 30 days they have had a raid failure in nickel.nocdirect.com. i've been moved to different servers and they still fail. if i wasn't losing money with my site being down i would call it comical.

i run a SMALL oscommerce shared hosting site. 1 single online store. i owned/operated a small ISP back in 1996 and i don't need handholding, i just need a reliable shared hosting provider with PHP/mysql. if the site doesn't go down i never call

i don't feel this should cost much. i've spent some time reading and find sooo many reviews its hard to disseminate.

recommendations for US-based, reliable, reliable, reliable, php/mysql hosting?

thank you!

I'm sorry for the frustration with nickel today. If you can provide me the account, I can get you moved to a more reliable system. We've had shared servers with years of uptime. Nickel is unfortunately an exception with the recent raid build issue.

All sorted now then.

If it's not sorted I recommend FreshRostedHosting, I use them for a VPS and their services and support are awesome.

Always good to see a provider taking care of it's clients.

Ndamico, you need to go ahead and find new hosting. Zachary talks a good game, but you're really just getting moved to a server that has the same downtime issues, is managed just as poorly, and isn't going to do anything for you in the long run but waste your time. The good news is that virtually anyone you choose is going to be better than JaguarPC.

Zach looks like he's fabricating uptimes to attempt to convince you to stay. I'd make him prove this outright laughable assertion here publicly before even considering taking him up on a server move. If JPC has servers with even 6+ months of uptime, then they're either hosted with their competitors outside of their own datacenter, or they're using some sort of "suspend" function which preserves uptime values even when server instances are powered down. Less than 6 months ago JPC moved all of their servers to a new datacenter (and changed all of their IP addresses), so nothing they run could possibly have uptimes longer than a few months (unless they're cheating).

I'm just going to have to call this like I see it: Zach at JPC just lied to you about server uptimes. Make him prove at least two shared servers have 2+ years of uptime each, or call him on his lie and walk away.

Check this out! Zachary McClung, Chief Customer Officer at JaguarPC, is threatening to sue me!

Dear Zach,

I'm going to continue to post to this and other sites about a wide range of topics, to include at every opportunity expressing my views about the absolutely terrible hosting, industry-bottom customer support, and underhanded marketing tactics your company engages in.

People on these forums are often already looking for recommendations for new hosts as a result of downtime or support failures on the part of JaguarPC, so it's altogether disingenuous to suggest that the cause of your problems is my posting here. As a former JaguarPC customer who knows first-hand exactly how bad you are at what you do, I think it is only fair that on a site called "Web Hosting Talk" I should say my piece, especially in threads that open with a poster saying that JaguarPC is bad at hosting and soliciting recommendations for their departure from your company.

Moreover, if you think I'm spreading false or inaccurate information, then you should have no problem refuting it instead of resorting to threats of a lawsuit.

We had two Atlanta facilities along with a Los Angeles and Dallas location. The secondary facility in Atlanta is where we moved servers from while our primary facility which holds the majority of our footprint along with the Dallas and LA locations were still online. The distance between the two facilities are only a few miles apart and we did the moves in waves leaving those customers with minimum downtime.
