urpad.net shared hosting Down

Posted by badstue, 07-20-2011, 02:46 AM
Hi.

Anyone else on Urpad.net's Corporate Alpha Reseller-plan?

For me it seems to be down. According to my monitoring it has been down for more than 1440 minutes.

No response from Brian/Urpad.net

Their main website is up (so thats a good sign), how long ago did you submit a support request?

Posted by badstue, 07-20-2011, 02:58 AM
Less than 24 hours ago.. so not wild. But still. Not usable for anything serious smaller websites :/

Hmm, well if they dont get back to you within 24 hours with a good explanation as to why you were unable to access your sites or why it took them so long to respond, I would seriously consider looking for a new web host. I hope you have your back-ups?

Less than 24hrs ago could be 1 minute to 24hrs

How long have your sites been down for?

Posted by badstue, 07-20-2011, 03:01 AM
Yea - I always do backups when I test cheap plans.. :-)

22 hours or so.. so less than 24 :-)

My website has been down since 07/18/2011 16:04:34..

But here on WHT I read several good reviews about Brian & Urpad.net .. so its a bit weird that the shared server suddenly is so much down. Maybe hes on vacation.

Well that is pretty bad, are you sure you did not block yourself from the firewall or anything as the such - failed cPanel logins?

Otherwise, I would be out of there personally.

Still not the point, your service should not be down - unless there was a reasonable explanation then it isn't right.

Do you mind if I ask what domain you have with them to see if maybe we can access the site?

I looked on their site and they are charging you $30 per month? For that price you should definitely be getting better services, at least better response times. Might also just be a firewall issue, but if your sites have in fact been down for almost 22 hours with no response from your webhost, I would consider that to be pretty unacceptable.

Well.. at least you were smart enough to back-up your data. I'd say if they dont get back to you soon, just pull the plug and look for someone a little more dependable?

Nope. No failed logins.

Wow.. that would be terrible.. "sorry your websites were down for a week, I was on vacation" lol. Personally I dont recall hearing anything good or bad about Urpad.net, but I do recall seeing them around on this board before. Have you tried contacting them here on WHT?

From reading what you have said, I think it might be the wise thing to do! Even if Brian was on vacation then he should have someone manning his support desk because if this is the sort of problem that occurs it surely is not going to be rectifiable if he is on vacation and has no support staff!

He seems to be a reseller to HostDime, they are quite good in fact.

Perhaps a few unpaid bills or something else, but you are definitely spot on it is down.

You're absolutely right Sean.

I just hope he sees this thread and takes a look on my problem.

Personally, I do not think you will get one

He did not even respond to this post, so chances are at least slim at best.

But according to his profile on WHT (Pheonix VPS, http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=344350) he was last online yesterday. So he is alive and around :-)

So I'll just wait a bit more.

Yes he did. His profilename is Pheonix VPS. And that user replied to that thread.

My apologies, he did respond

I was mis-interpreting the commenter on the post itself. Though, still regardless to the situation it does seem the support is really slack as from those images it could take up to 3 days for a response to come back if not longer.

I would still make those considerations on moving as it just isn't good enough.

Server Still Down After 24 hrs
hope brain will get back online server

Posted by badstue, 07-20-2011, 04:13 PM
Well. I've just talked to Hostdime where Brian has his shared hosting/stuff/is customer.

And the most friendly supporter told me that he could see a problem. But wasnt allowed to tell me anymore(ofc).

But he told me that I wasnt going to lose any data and I should be up and running within 2 days or less.

They just needed to handle some issues between them and Brian. And they also told me that Brian had recently contacted them for a fix.

So I hope the best.. and that Brian will be honest about what happened.

That is definitely the thing to look for. Whether he will be honest about it or not.

Well. I just got an answer from him just now. And he said "I have been out of town for some time. I am now back in town. I have the cPanel server back online at this time."

So thats good news. But as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, that if he was out of town or on vacation, then you would think that he got someone to look after his business until he returns. But apparently not :-)

And now I'm back online with my website.. At last :-)
