Major Paetec/Windstream Outage in NYC Metro Area

The issue seems to be affecting outgoing calls only, but a Paetec rep told me it's affecting most (all?) of their customers in the NYC metro area (we are in Paramus, NJ). No word on the cause or how long it is expected to last.

Anybody have any more news on this? It's been pretty much the focus of my day, and a bad way to start the week.

Also, anybody else find the timing odd? I mean, they only announced that Windstream had acquired Paetec for $891 million this morning. Almost like everybody just decided to go home and the last guy turned off the switches instead of shutting the lights.
