Does anyone know of a way to contact them?

I have a VPS that has been down and or network down (second time in a few days)for at least an hour and I cant login to the support section or email them.

Have notied that Tacvps website is down and also my vps that is hosted with them, is anyone else having any issues with there vps hosted with these guys. Anyone any contact numbers to get intouch as would like to know what is going on.

Posted by BeZazz, 08-16-2011, 07:58 AM
Yep I have the same issue. A VPS I have with them has been down at least 3 hours now with now way to contact them. This is the second time in three days the first was network issues at their end I presume this is the same thing.

The annoying part is you just cant seem to contact them and it appears there is no one at their end doing anything.

It looks like their server is at Limestone Networks in Dallas. We have servers at Limestone and everything is running fine so I guess it must be specific to their server.

It's a pity they don't update their Twitter though

I never noticed any other issues before today, i am able to login to the vps management site.

Posted by BeZazz, 08-16-2011, 08:06 AM
It would help if they did at least update their Twitter. At least people would know there was someone working on the issue.
As it stands after over 3 hours of downtime and no communication I am starting to think they are all asleep :/

Wonder what happened to the 15 minute response time....

Posted by BeZazz, 08-16-2011, 08:37 AM
To be honest I think the 15 minute response time was/is hard coded into the site.

They use Cloudflare and Cloudflare announced some updates to their system so probably TacVPS is "unstable"

Why is there no posts here from them or Tweets if that is the case?

It's nothing to do with Cloudflare, Hugoblue. The server itself is off-line.

Over 5 hours now still nothing.....

Posted by BeZazz, 08-16-2011, 09:57 AM
I suppose on the bright side I made off site backups everyday.

Posted by certo2010, 08-16-2011, 10:01 AM
yeh i got off site backups also, well back to my old supplyer i think then

Posted by BeZazz, 08-16-2011, 10:08 AM
Yeah, I am not sure how long to wait before using the backups. I am hoping they come back online soon but the silence is a bit worrying.

Posted by certo2010, 08-16-2011, 10:12 AM
Yeh i know what you are saying, if they atleast let us know whats going on i dont get annoyed as much as i am now

First sentence of an email I just received.

Quote:
We regret to inform you that TacVPS is officially closing its doors effective Friday, 8/19/2011
I will say I do appreciate the notice. To often hosts/providers just close their doors with no notice.

Posted by certo2010, 08-16-2011, 12:17 PM
Yeh and they have given chance to get all data off system with refunds..

Just got this email:

Quote:
We regret to inform you that TacVPS is officially closing its doors effective Friday, 8/19/2011. It is really unfortunate to see the things we planned out for many years ahead to not work out, however it is something we need to do which will benefit our customers and us in the long run. As a result, we will no longer be accepting orders and existing services/clients will need to migrate away to a new hosting provider.

With that being said, VPS hosting clients until Friday 8/19/2011 to grab your data and migrate to a new provider. If you have paid for this month ahead already, please contact us by submitting a ticket for a prorated refund within 48 hours.

Dedicated server clients: You have until the end of your due date to keep your server. Be noted your dedicated server will automatically be shut down the day the due date comes, so be sure to have all of your data backed up and migrated to a new provider before your next due date.

Thanks for your understanding and co-operation. It was a pleasure working with you and we would like to thank you for being such a loyal customer to us. Have a good day and best of luck for the future.

Regretfully,

The TacVPS Team

I know "sales" isn't permitted here, but if you were in a bind like I was then check out BigBrainHost -- they are giving me a grace period on a vps until I either get refunded or get paid next.. I was worried about losing all of my hard work and they understood my problem and are working with me to get my sites transferred..

Posted by WartHogHosting, 08-16-2011, 06:29 PM
I must have ESP....I migrated what I had left on my TACVPS vps yesterday and didn't pay the invoice that was due today.

I had some issues a few days ago and didn't like the way things were handled. Too bad...seemed like a nice guy/guys.

The issues yesterday were for accessing our www site & didn't affect customer sites at all.

We do have a Twitter handle where we update CloudFlare system issues (@cloudflaresys).

I really doub't you are going to get that $50.00 credit in actual money. As credit is significantly cheaper for hosts than real dolars.

The data is still most likely of the HDD's of the servers at the DC.

Are they hosting with limestone networks?
