Ultrahoster down

Posted by bubblymunkey, 10-18-2011, 12:20 PM
I'm surprised no-one has yet made a thread about this (although maybe it's because they have barely any customers left due to appalling service?), but anyway Ultrahoster have been down for 2 days now with no word on why, and this is the second time in just a few months this has happened for this amount of time.

Definitely moving once it's back, but anyone know why it's down?

Is the domain Ultrahoster.com? Because it seems as though the server is up but they've taken their website offline?

Oh sorry no, my apologies. It's Ultrahoster.co.uk I'm referring to.
Their site is down and all sites that are hosted with them (that I know of) are also down.

I honestly don't know why I give this host chance after chancxe, I should of left when we had the last big downtime. Been down since Sunday morn uk time for me.
I also had a payment problem with them, I paid the invoice and kept getting emails saying my invoice was late. I sent support tickets but no replies. Then they suspended me and then the site went down. I lost count how many support tickets I sent, but thought it was wrong they took my money, didn't reply then took my site down then to top all off have a 3day + downtime! I nearly paid again just so I could get my sites back, and move elsewhere but unfortuneatly the host went down by the time I thought of it!

I think we are the only 2 customers! And after this they will have none, that's if they ever come back...

It's back now but would appreciate an explanation as to why the downtime was so long.

Ultrahoster.co.uk down nearly 48hrs..

no email no twitter account for worried customers. You would of thought they could at least set up a twitter account, its free and easy.

Dont know why im still with them tbh :/

I guess this makes me their third customer

They do have twitter but it's been almost a year since they last tweeted (@ultrahoster)

I'm on their shoutcast reseller service and have only been with them a few weeks. They seemed friendly and knew what they were talking about pre-sales but all my contact with them has taken a lot of time to get a response.

Does this happen often? I don't want to be putting clients on to a bad service.

lol hi gary!

happens a lot more then it should, i dont mind once a month but 2/3 times a month at days at a time takes the bleeding pee Everytime its down its for a long period of time.

Their support have been ok with me, resonable time plus ive had 1 or 2 months free with them. But tbh i dont see why we should go without for days with no notice and no update from them.

I agree Hayley. I'd rather get the service I'm happy to pay for then get credited extra months for a service I'm unhappy with.

You would think they might monitor their servers

So glad I found this thread! This is the third day now. I'm pretty miffed as I have a reseller with them. I wanted to update one of my blogs there, but of course it's down. Why on earth don't they just email us? Surely they have a backup email address for such occasions, even if its only a gmail.

The address is real. Why do you think it's false? Cornish is a Celtic language and similar to old Welsh. So I guess that's why it looks fine to me! Though in Welsh it would have been more like "Cynewydd".

Is it the same adress as:

https://www.checkmyfile.com/contact.htm ?

Do you think it is part of the same organisation as Ultrahoster? Or that Ultrahoster have just used these details on their whois and aren't legitimate?

They've suddenly come back up. Ironically, on the day when I have to pay for my sites hosted there. Hmmm. Not saying it's more than a coincidence, but just, hmmm. No explanation of where they've been the past three days.

Don't know but something is wrong. Search for the combination of the adress with words like scam and fraud.

Anyway .. avoid hosters with no contact adress of phone number on their website.

I'm surprised to see them back online.

I submitted a ticket this morning asking why they were offline for three days. Twelve hours after submitting they say it was down to a software issue.

I don't think I'm going to stay with them, I don't feel I can trust them anymore.
