Hivelocity: 2+ hours offline... Horrible, just horrible

This is NOT an entire network issue, this is a rack specific issue, apparently. For 2 hours now, access has been pretty much offline. There have been intermittent spikes of connectivity, but the reality is that this is just unacceptable.

Was woken up around 4am (CST) with massive text messages claiming that my monitor server couldn't be connected to. Since then, it's been a barrage of messages. Their excuse?

The rack switch your server is connected to is having connectivity issues. We are in the process of getting it replaced.
2 hours later? Still no replacement, still no connectivity.
Looks like it's time to start shopping for another DC. I pay way, way too much for this much downtime and headache.

I'm having the same issue. My phone is getting blown up while on vacation in Snowshoe at the moment. Fun fun. Not too happy at the moment.

Ask for a more comprehensive RFO, and perhaps once fixed they'll offer a discount or some money back for the downtime - or at least ask.

Seems resolved now, only took them 3 hours to change out a switch.
We'll see if the issue is actually resolved, or if this is one of those intermittent accesses.

Mine seems resolved as well for now, must be on the same switch.

We had a rack switch flake out on us. Typically we have a backup of the switch config and would just load up a new swith and get everything going right away. For this particular switch we did not and because of that there was a delay in getting you all back up.

We will open a trouble ticket for each of you affected asking if everything is back up and running. Please reply to that ticket letting us know things are working. We can address any TOS credits in that ticket as well.

We are very sorry for the delay in getting this resolved for you.

Sounds like it's time to test configs and make sure they exist for ALL these switches, if it's going to take 3 hours to fix in the future.

Company failure, a 10% credit, not even worth my time, sadly, considering my entire day is shot because of this failure.

Such things happen. I appreciate that you're taking steps to insure it doesn't happen again and the credit is a nice gesture.

Back to the slopes.

Atleast they fix this within 3 hours.

Failover option?
