Innohosting Issues?

Posted by rwilki, 01-19-2012, 12:12 AM
I've been really happy with Innohosting but recently the server keeps going offline. Both times recently, the corporate site innohosting.com isn't even available so I can't submit a ticket. Kind of scary...

Mzima (bandwidth carrier for our older servers) is having network issues . A router has been replaced which fixed things quite a bit but it's still a bit unstable - onsite network engineers are working on the issue. This only affects our old legacy servers including the inno site (it was scheduled to be moved onto the premium mix of carriers next week along with our other servers which are unaffected).

The connection for now is a bit patchy, comes and goes for brief periods which is annoying. The good thing is we have multiple contact options including telephone support 24x7. So if you need help, just give us a call (numbers are on my signature).

So to clarify this only affects our old legacy servers from many years ago and so it's a very small number of clients, all other customers are on the premium mix of carriers which are unaffected by such issues and will not be affected by such issues because they use a mix of carriers instead unlike our legacy servers which are using just the one (Mzima).

I guess signatures don't show on the outages section.

The numbers are:

hi ... i am with Inno and my domain has been down for more than 1 hr already.

Your Inno site is down and i am in Asia, so email support will be the best option for me.

Domain affected: starhuv.com

Pls advise when can this problem be fixed ?

Thank you.

Hi There,

You can still call us from Asia, if you use Skype I think calling the toll-free numbers will be free to you. However, you're more than welcome to PM me here if you prefer too

Just waiting on an ETA from the data centre. I've asked them for one, so as soon as I do I'll reply to your PM.

Keep in mind the connection is patchy, it's not a consistent downtime. It's intermittent.

I am experiencing consistent downtime.

Will wait for your ETA then. Contacting u guys will not solve my problem anyway.

Okay, here is some good news.
Mzima swapped the pair of fiber/gibc and the DC has done the same on their side. One of our power distribution units also popped a circuit, that was fixed as well and the servers are all being powered up as we speak.

domain finally back online ... down for more than 3 hrs

Glad that things are back online. 3 hours is a long time, thankfully for me, it was after hours. It's always good to know what's going on and what's being done about it. Is this fixed permanently, or is this router going to have issues again? I've made backups just in case...

We're hoping that it was a permanent fix as not only was our site affected but so was the site of our DC. It's only a small handful of servers using Mzima and we're focused on moving those servers onto the premium mix with the rest of our servers (not a physical server move, just changing bandwidth providers). That would prevent such an issue from ever happening again.
