There was apparently a maintenance scheduled for this time, however downtime was expected to be 5 minutes max.

Everything has been down for exactly an hour now.


ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Immedion Network Engineering will be performing maintenance activities on the Edge and Core routers in the Asheville, NC datacenter. This maintenance will add capacity and improve stability in the datacenter edge and core network.
Due to the type of maintenance there will be a number of BGP related convergence events which will cause interruptions in customer facing internet connectivity for up to 5 minutes at a time. There will be a number of these events during this maintenance which will happen at unspecified times. There will be no impact to private or dedicated circuits coming into customer equipment as a result of these maintenance activities.

Its been down for 2 hours and 13minutes at the time of this writing according to our monitoring.

Just spoke with support and they say it maybe back online in 15 minutes, fingers crossed.

Weird ours was only down for 1 hour 10 minutes. I wonder if this is covered under SLA or not (since it was scheduled, but it did state 5 minutes of downtime)

what are these people doing?, still getting TTL expire, we have rtsp - voip traffic on our servers :x
its more then 3 hours now, this outage is getting worse

I don't remember having this much trouble with Netriplex... the network has been a little unstable for the past couple of months.

Hopefully this maintenance will see the end of the issues...

I don't get why they say "will cause interruptions in customer facing internet connectivity for up to 5 minutes at a time" - When it's down for the WHOLE time. Yesterday 3 hours, today its already been 2 hours.

"Please be aware that while this impact should be minimal you will see periods of time where route convergence causes intermittent"

Not good at all.

They failed to inform us they are swapping out their edge and core routes and replacing their AS Number.

That is a big more complex than the simple 5 min BGP converges as they basically advertised.

This is ridiculous from them.

Is what i wanted to know =/ 6.5 Hours down today, 3 hours down yesterday. It's just not acceptable.
