Our server there has just become unresponsive and their website appears to be down.

Confirmed, we have an awful lot of servers down at the moment with them, both on Mzima and their premium mix.

Funny enough just one server is standing.

Most of my servers are down 2 of them are still up (all in the same webnx dc).

all of ours are down... power issue ?

Posted by cheaptraffic, 06-11-2012, 10:09 AM
all our servers with them are down

lets hope it is not serious

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 06-11-2012, 10:13 AM
Looks like it's coming back up. Servers have not rebooted so must have been network related.

Posted by Kakashi, 06-11-2012, 10:13 AM
They have been very stable. Looks like our server is back online but has been power cycled. Our one has been rebooted.

Posted by scoutz, 06-11-2012, 10:14 AM
My servers are all back online. No reboots..

Posted by Scott.Mc, 06-11-2012, 10:14 AM
They are back now, looks like a network issue.

Posted by Dan_EZPZ, 06-11-2012, 10:14 AM
On a related note, WebNX could really do with a status page or notification blog.... It'd save them a whole lot of tickets.

Posted by Kakashi, 06-11-2012, 10:17 AM
Just confirmed there was a partial power outtage at their 'Hope' facility.

Posted by DedicatedGaming, 06-11-2012, 10:18 AM
seem like power issue, one our of servers in the new dc seems to have rebooted... servers in the old dc had network outage only

Posted by IH-Rameen, 06-11-2012, 10:18 AM
In case anyone is interested, just been told:

Looks like there was a partial power outage at our hope facility we are
currently working to restore connectivity.
Everything is currently up and running for me however.

Good job webnx on the quick resolution

Posted by jumpinjack, 06-11-2012, 10:32 AM
Still down for me...

Posted by alons, 06-11-2012, 10:53 AM
Its up. It was down for 5-10 minutes.

Posted by WebNX, 06-11-2012, 10:56 AM
Hello,

One of our datacenters had a full power outage, we are still working with vendors to find the exact cause but at first glance it looks to be ATS related. If you still any any servers down please submit a ticket and techs will check into it ASAP.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Could you get one of your techs to check my ticket please (ID 4761502). I submitted it about an hour ago with no reply as yet, and server is still down.

Same here, server still down and no reply in ticket for over an hour. Sometimes power outage is not a big concern, but lack of communicate is.

Probably too many people bugging them about why it went down for them to be able to get to actually fixing it.

Agree, they should have a status page or something like that. It could save them a lot of time.

Even an updated twitter feed would do wonders for them.

Didn't seem partial to us. ALL of our machines were rebooted.

Maybe you were unlucky enough to have all of your machines in the same part of the DC.

Yup, we're always the unlucky ones, so it seems. Oh Well.

Time to move to our own cabs with A+B power, and redundant PSU's in all of our chassis.

Now that sounds like an elegant solution.

Doesn't webnx already have this option at an increased cost?
I don't think I've ever asked for it but I believe the facility they are in has redundant power. Although it could be a facility near them that I'm getting confused with.

This is the first downtime that monitoring has picked up for me in 2 years. Either my monitoring is crap or I have been really lucky

What's your monitor's interval?

5 minutes. Probably should be shorter but no one on my site would really complain for a downtime of 5 minutes or less. Any downtimes were caused by reboots by me.
I never knew it worked until now.

The odd thing is they had a power outage last year, monitoring didn't pick anything up. I'm a little confused by that. I wonder if the machine was back up for the 5 minutes.

Ha! Either you have had good service, or you have the luckiest outages ever.

They do, yes. But we don't have them on the dedi's we lease.. Either way, we need to move into our own Cabinets soon regardless.

WebNX has been great help to us so far. Although they do have intermittent outages on occasion. Pingdom @ 1 minute intervals. Uptime is over 99.9% though.

Just got an e-mail from WebNX.

"Dear Clients,

We do not have a full RFO yet but we wanted to inform you of the status as soon as we had something solid. From what we've been told by our vendor the UPS at our second location, 800 S Hope, has failed and due to the way the original owners installed the unit it will require several dozen man hours to repair. During this time we will be on bypass power. Grid power was not the cause of this, the building was running tests which triggered cascade failures in the UPS. We were in the planning stages of upgrading the power infrastructure just as we had upgraded the network infrastructure earlier this year to ASR 9000's and Internap FCP's. The upgrades will now be taking place at an accelerated pace and we will provide more details as they become available. We profusely apologise for the down time and are grateful for your cooperation while we work to bring all servers back online. If your server is still having issues please email support@webnx.com and we will make sure it comes back online.
