It's not just you! http://rlshosting.com looks down from here.

It seems to be working fine now.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-14-2012, 02:41 PM
We are so sorry for this. Phoenix Nap/Secured Servers took a while to get kvm to us. The server booted in the wrong kernel on accident causing unexpected downtime.

Posted by Fudevs, 08-14-2012, 02:42 PM
Unfortunately, Nothing working as I can't receive any emails... my clients is gonna kill me...

Posted by M Bacon, 08-14-2012, 02:44 PM
Everything should be up soon since the server was just booted.

Posted by Fudevs, 08-14-2012, 02:48 PM
Do you feel what I feel now? where I have moved to your company for less than a week and now all my clients is calling me, all emails is down, for more than 4 hours.

OMG .....

Posted by M Bacon, 08-14-2012, 03:02 PM
Yes. It makes me very anxious and extremely uneasy.

It's good that you are honest. Downtime is one of those things that all providers dread.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-14-2012, 05:12 PM
I'd rather be honest than lie. I don't think you get anywhere in this world by lying.

I couldn't agree more, but many people would downplay the experience. I've had frequent DDoS attacks a few years back and some of my oldest clients stayed through that because I was honest.

Posted by 2funhost, 08-15-2012, 06:31 PM
it is very sad. In this business a bad name for this type of hosting provider.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-15-2012, 08:33 PM
I am sorry but at least I am here for whoever needs help. Unfortunately, email wasn't working until the end.

Posted by scheme, 08-15-2012, 11:23 PM
Everything appears to be back up as usual, just a little bout of unexpected downtime as everyone receives sometimes.

Regards,

I confirm, rlshosting.com site works fine now.

Posted by RTS-AQIB, 08-16-2012, 06:02 AM
It's up now. Working fine at my end. Their twitter is also inactive.

Kind Regards,
RapidTechSolutions.

Why their site was down from last 24+ hours?

RLS down from 14 or 15 August.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-16-2012, 08:38 AM
Site wasn't down for over 24 hours. It was less than that.

Second that, it was only down for a few hours. I have an account with them.

Posted by venantius, 08-17-2012, 03:12 AM
I also have account with RLS, downtime is 7h 20min [14/08/2012 18:19:13 - 15/08/2012 01:39:13] according to my pingdom monitoring. (Time offset is GMT+7).

I would like to suggest to Mr M Bacon that you separate main website/client area out of this server. So your customers can always contact you when this server is down.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-17-2012, 06:29 PM
Yes. Good idea. We'll do this asap. You may contact us facebook.com/rlshosting/ twitter.com/rlshosting, and/or WHT too.

I agree with venantius. I am also one of their proud client and I also have clients willing to flood my cellphone with calls and overload my email inbox if their website is down. And without any information to provide them during down time it will be a disaster on my end.

And believe me, I am not good in lying and I believe in bad karma.

The reason why no information was provided is because the mail server was down just like the server.

I am purchasing a vps right now to take care of this

Down again. Last update around
4:27pm Wednesday August 22, 2012 (EDT) - Time in New York, NY, USA

was a server upgrade. After more than 7 hours I can't find anyone from their end.

I am now starting to pull my hair... Wishing and praying. Only if I can afford a bit expensive hosting.

Good hoster please PM me for your best reseller price... please please... I need the cheapest. with a bit quality

Posted by M Bacon, 08-23-2012, 05:02 AM
It's up now. We didn't have a eta unfortunately. The reason being is that anything can happen in this business. We had a disk check that took forever, a root password reset, waited on kvm, & had to fix much more. The main reason why this happened because we didn't expect this. Last time, they offered us a free cpu upgrade everything went well. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. I swear on my life that this won't happen ever again. It was beyond stressful. You don't believe me but that's alright. It's understandable.

Posted by M Bacon, 08-23-2012, 06:11 AM
We was upgrading the server to 16gb of ram/better cpu and it didn't go as expected.

Posted by real_skinner, 09-15-2012, 03:00 PM
Down again.

6 hours now and still counting. M Bacon, honestly you are killing me.

updates in twitter doesn't give us anything to hope for.

it's been 1 month now and ever since I never had 1 solid week with no downtime.

M Bacon, I message you here and emailed you but I still didn't get any response.

yea, never had 1 solid week with no downtime, is it acceptable M Bacon? and before someone asked you make clients main website separate from your server so all clients can connect and contact but seems you ignored our advices.

Your Last tweet: We just found a way to restore accounts rather fast. So, your sites will be up in a few minutes!

and even you have no time to replay or update.

Posted by Fudevs, 09-16-2012, 04:42 PM
Should I confirm that i lost all my sites and my account? 2 days (No answer & no replay)

Posted by dareORdie, 09-16-2012, 04:45 PM
It;s working fine for me. Please check it once again...

Posted by real_skinner, 09-16-2012, 04:51 PM
Sorry to hear about that bro. Glad I have few backups of my own and currently signup with Bezazz which has an LA pop that is so ideal for me. So far so good. I have monitored Bezazz for few weeks now with a solid up time compared to RLSHosting and as cheaper too

Hope you can recover all your website pretty soon Fudevs.

M Bacon, do you allow legal adult web sites? Coz I paid a year and at least I can make use of my account.

Unfortunately; I have no backup for all account which means I lost 12 website for me and my clients.
Please provide me with link for Bezazz...

M Bacon, Could you replay to my support Ticket #390146 or my twitter replay or emails or anything?

At least answer.

Posted by real_skinner, 09-16-2012, 05:35 PM
I am not sure if their disk space and bandwidth will be enough for you but here it is http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...ghlight=bezazz

We don't really resell hosting but we only bundle them to our web design services. And I like them because they have like four locations around the globe and has a good track record. The guy in WHT with bezazz seems to be a very good guy too, very easy to get along.

Well, I stayed up all night to fix the issue. I am not kidding either. I went to bed afterwards. You have to sleep sometimes and the restores were going on when I was sleeping since they are automated. As for answering this thread on WHT, I didn't see this thread until now. Your data isn't lost. Honestly, I am still transferring data and it says: 86%

I know that's bad but I can only do so much.

Ya. I know the downtime is very bad but I not very pleased with it at all either. I can only do so much at once.

I don't see any direct messages from my twitter account either.

The kloxo page should so some indication that I was trying to communicate with my clients.

I am very sorry but downtime is never acceptable. I hope that you forgive us and have lots less downtime with us in your near future.

Down again for few minutes now

6:57pm Tuesday (EDT) - Time in New York, NY

Will be up soon.

Posted by M Bacon, 09-18-2012, 08:01 PM
Ok. Server is booting up.

Posted by M Bacon, 09-18-2012, 08:44 PM
Well, looks like the network on the server didn't boot up.

Apparently it's been down for the last several hours, again.

Regarding the previous crash a few days ago, yes there were backups of the websites, but they are a week old. I had a client who has potentially done many hours of work on his website over the last week. I haven't heard from him, but he won't be too happy to find it's all completely lost and has to be redone. I wouldn't be surprised if I have to re-imburse him.

What sort of host loses all your files and only does weekly backups? For a start, no hdd is so far gone that you can't recover any of the files off of it.

I've experienced a LOT of downtime with RLS since I've been hosted with them, which is short-term. I'm on here looking for another host now.

Good support and communication from Michael - that is when you can actually submit support because their main website is often down as well, but the downtime is just too much. Maybe it's just bad luck and it's only been recently, I don't know.

Posted by real_skinner, 09-19-2012, 02:36 AM
Yah, I agree. Michael is a great guy and very helpful too. But, I just wish I can cancel my account and get some refunds.

All my sites with RLS are still down and my client keeps on calling my personal phone.

"Lesson learned..."

Unbelievable, What kind of hosting company is this, Downtime 99.99% with no update ever.............

At least allow us to take Backup and go away...

Where are you M becon

Posted by kona333, 09-19-2012, 07:35 PM
Even the twitter page hasn't been updated in 4 days, and the facebook for a month. What a joke. I feel sorry for Michael if it's not his fault or if he's been working on it day and night, but we're completely in the cold here on what's going on.

Where do you guys plan or suggest moving to? I want somewhere fairly cheap but it needs to have overselling and be fast, and US based.

I looked at Bezzaz but the website has hardly information on it and I don't think I want to risk someone new or just a one-man-band again. They can get in over their head.

Posted by M Bacon, 09-19-2012, 09:33 PM
Server will be up asap. I did a reformat of the server with a cPanel Install and it will be online and I will be restoring backups. I have purchased a server for ssh backups. Server will be online after I secure it and do upgrades and restore backups.

As for backups, many hosts lose backups but of course it's not an excuse.

I did get some Web Hosting Talk emails until recently. I don't know what's wrong with the Web Hosting Talk server but I haven't gotten any emails from this thread after subscribing to it. I did get some emails at the beginning but not recently.

Posted by M Bacon, 09-19-2012, 09:35 PM
Unfortunately, I was working all night on it but obviously the server would not come up at all via ssh. It did come up in kvm. I don't know why it's doing this but I have contacted the datacenter and cPanel. They cannot fix it. So, a reformat is in order.

Simply go with Managed provider if you can not do it yourself, Because our clients is calling us every second asking for websites.

Or Even give us our sites as backup in order to move to any other provider.

Posted by M Bacon, 09-20-2012, 04:02 AM
Ya. I can't. It costs way too much for a managed server.

There are also remote options which can be cheaper then using the DCs support team.
