Yup, down hard. Can't load the pingdom website or our public status page.

Posted by me_vineet, 01-12-2013, 11:22 AM
Yes it's down. Messange on their page reads:"Uh oh! We have some issues

We are experiencing an issue with our site. We are investigating and will keep you posted. Please check back in a little while."

Posted by pedrojose, 01-12-2013, 12:00 PM
Yes, down for me too.

I think 1 or 2 weeks ago Pingdom also experienced a downtime and on their blog they made a post where they said that will in the coming days provide other blog post with all the details about the downtime.

Until now no post there blog was posted and today we have another downtime.. this is getting ridiculous.

Pingdom, should inform its clients exactly what is gooing on on the past weeks and also to ensure and upgrade its systems for situations like this to appear less often.

Down at my side too,

Posted by pedrojose, 01-12-2013, 12:23 PM
Besides we cant manage our checks, the main problem for me is that my pingdom public network status page where i show my clients my network status is also down.

I hope that after this, pingdom posts a article on their blog explaining what happen, also to take measures for this does not happen in the future we so much frequency

Posted by pedrojose, 01-12-2013, 12:56 PM
Pingdom site is already up.. but public network status pages are still down.

hope pingdom team can resolve this fast

Posted by cimunk_pure, 01-13-2013, 10:57 PM

Posted by wartungsfenster, 01-14-2013, 07:02 AM

Posted by popup55, 01-14-2013, 07:05 AM
Its fine now i guess

Posted by jfnllc, 01-14-2013, 07:20 AM
Appears to have recovered on my end.

Though iffy ... seems latent. I just might start a ... ping.

No joke though, these guys have saved my butt and are one of my favorite monitoring tools. First time I've ever known or seen a problem.

Today pingdom is down again from about 1 hour now...

Its quite a automatic and fully advanced system that i have setup to monitor Pingdom. Want to know how it works? Its when i start to get phone calls from my clients saying that they can't access their monitoring network status page (aka: pingdom public network status page)...

Posted by pedrojose, 01-18-2013, 08:44 PM
My public pingdom status page is still down.. now for some hours...

Posted by markfrompf, 01-18-2013, 10:18 PM
Wow, almost 13 hours since Pingdom's original post on Twitter about the issues. I really hope they bring the service back online soon.

This extended downtime makes me think this is more than just an outage. I wonder if any data corruption is at play here.

Or a huge DDOS attack that does not seems to be or most probably caused by their new recent added features. Hope they can solve it out fast because this kind of downtime is not acceptable..

also not feedback from their support team or anyware

Posted by markfrompf, 01-18-2013, 11:36 PM
Agreed, padrojose. This might be a good time to do some maintenance off-the-grid, jk jk

EDIT: Their site and Dashboard are now up. API/apps are still down though, as are probe servers. Checks have not being monitored since they first announced the issue.

Hi,

Today my pingdom public status page is offline. Im getting a "502 Bad Gateway" error.

Is this another pingdom outage? Does anyone can confirm is you can access your pingdom public status pages?

Thanks

Posted by hostvirtual, 01-27-2013, 06:30 AM
Confirmed, our public status page is down with a 502 as well.

The API does seem to be up.

But that was regarding the past outages. Today is a new downtime...

Their tech team in the last weeks seem to be at work "drunk" Its just a joke..

Posted by Eased, 01-27-2013, 07:08 AM
Who pings the pinger? lol

Posted by dale, 01-27-2013, 07:12 AM
pedrojose, ahh I did not realise that -- thanks!

Here's an example of an earnest and informative blog post, by someone with significant scale: http://forums.myorderbox.com/index.p...9201#entry9201

It's a real shame that they don't actively communicate during outages, and give the impression of being a 9-5 M-F type of operation especially when they provide a 24x7 service critical to many.

Perhaps this wouldn't be such a big deal if the outages weren't ongoing. (2+ hours for their public status pages) which have just returned to service again.

Yes its all back up now and I am able to access there website.

Posted by backupbranch, 01-27-2013, 12:40 PM
Working perfectly fine. Not a resource I generally use anyway

Posted by HostedNMS, 01-27-2013, 12:50 PM
I recently made a trial account there and three times in the past two weeks it's been down. As Eased said, who's pinging the pinger? Seems to me they shouldn't be having these long downtimes if their product was working well.

Posted by backupbranch, 01-27-2013, 01:47 PM
Overload of the DNS possibly?

Posted by pedrojose, 01-31-2013, 10:54 AM
Hi,

My pingdom public status page is again down. Can someone else confirm this?

Thanks

Already up! Probably a network problem.

Posted by hostvirtual, 01-31-2013, 10:56 AM
Ours seems ok

Posted by pedrojose, 01-31-2013, 10:58 AM
yes, mine too. like i said before, it must been a network problem from my side.. but with the latest pingdom downtimes.. we think that it was another pingdom outage.

but yes, all seems ok now

Posted by dediresellers, 01-31-2013, 04:20 PM
Working on my side, may be a DNS issue
