Solarvps down?

Posted by albatroz, 01-12-2013, 01:28 PM
Anybody else is having issues with Solarvps?
I have one of the new Cloud servers with them and has been down for 40+ minutes aprox.

They say they are working on it
Fortunately it is Saturday.

Update: They say my VPS is in a node that requires an emergency maintenance.

Having issues is an understatement. I recently had to suffer a Solarvps migration due to and IP change. After the migration, most of my websites were down. Solar blamed my websites...garbage. I employed several techs and they established it was caused by Solar and the migration.

Recently I ran out of hard drive space and it put my websites offline for eight hours until I could purchase a new allocation. To date, I have been waiting over 30 hours for billing to approve this and my main money earning website is still down as I don't have resources to re-install a backup.

Yes, I have been with Solar for many years (approx.6 years) and I have lost or spent nearly 12 months hosting fees already since February 18th. Something Solar conveniently avoids when discussing this issue.

The tech support has been good during this process, however, their hands are tied when they can't allocate resources. I am starting the think solar is only manned by several people.

Hey Lyn,

I want to apologize on behalf of the Solar VPS family for the issue you ran into. To be candid, there was some miscommunication between our billing department and support team. I personally have worked with countless existing clients like yourself, when they have needed something as simple as an HDD/storage upgrade. This is the first time that I have ever seen a hiccup of this kind.

Please do keep in mind though that our billing department is only open during regular business hours, while our support teams work around the clock. I believe the time that Billing was off the clock added with the miscommunication between them and support is what made your request for simple upgrade seem longer than it should have been.

I want to assure you that you can contact me directly the next time you need something, and I will personally make sure everything is handled appropriately and in a timely manner. I may also be able to get your next upgrade at a reduced rate for you because of this “slip-up”?

Just know that your best interest in our thoughts Lyn, and we look forward to having you with us for more years to come.
