Is retargeting existing...

Retargeting is a great way to pick up sales after they have closed the cart. In fact I think we are going to see more of it in the coming year. But I see many companies using retargeting cookies and yet the client is already a customer.

SO are they preaching to the converted, or is it expensive brand reinforcement?

I certainly won't be paying for customers who already deal with me, would you?

Well you are not paying unless they click on your link/banner.
if they are customers chances are they don't need to buy now but it will be easier for them to recognise the brand when it is time to buy again.

I think it is a good strategy. Normally the clients don't click on the banner because they know you but they see your brand everywhere and that counts a lot because they think you are investing money in your brand in so many web sites and that it is a good sign

I wouldn't call existing customer retargeting a waste, its just a matter of HOW its done. I am more of a believer of the process that the whole nurturing starts from the first client contact. Maintaining a high level of customer support will allow your agents to better enforce upselling techniques and you can gain attention and brand recognition through social media channels, company blog, newsletter etc.

You can find another good client from existing ones , the referrals are really great for business development

Retargeting customers is a good way of offering more business.

What i mean is, you have a customer who has already bought your product/service. So you have gone to the next step with the customer. And your not on step 1 trying to make the sale.

Aslong as they have your trust, I'm sure they will purchase more also clients work on recommendations so a lot of business is done through word of mouth. So my opinion is its not a waste of time
