MyHostLtd.com Gone it seems

Posted by deadsquirrel, 02-10-2013, 04:22 AM
Woke up today to find out that the server is down and it also seems that the domain myhostltd.com has expired so cant even send them an email. Anyone have any more info? Not going to bother spending much time on this, just going to move on but its really annoying that they dont even bother to let you know so you get a chance to get the latest backup.

Well many Hosting companies do that. Your site gets expired and they tell you that sorry we cant provide backup. I had this problem with Y! hosting.

Good luck with getting backups. It's always worth keeping backups for this purpose (not that you should need to).

Yeah, many hosting companies appear but unfortunately also disappear just so.

We had several times situations when some resellers had servers with us, either reselling dedicated servers or did some vps nodes out of them, and then one day disappeared, didn't pay the bills to us anymore and we go the normal way of suspending service and after some time terminating it as we can't reach our client. After some time, we get some emails from helpless desperate people saying that they rented this servers from our client.

For this reason, always be careful whom you choose, and the most important: keep backups all the time anywhere you host. You never know what happens.

As their domain name is up for auction, I'd suggest they've long gone.

Probably not a company, but a "company" (amateur, kiddie, etc)
Sorry to hear you got screwed.
Next time, pick a real hosting company.

Never heard of this company.. Also the domain name was one year old and it was registered in Feb 2012. Looks like they were just reselling other provider's service. I suggest you to check IP whois and find the hosting provider. Probably they may help you to take backup of your data.
