What is going on in Kansas City's Oak Tower? (Joes Datacenter)

Posted by KansasDCMan, 03-20-2013, 09:11 AM
Hey guys,

I currently have a myriad of servers hosted in Joes Datacenter, and since this morning it seems as if the network is basically unreachable. None of my machines (or any of their gateway IP's for that matter) are responding to my pings.

Does anyone know what's going on there? Their website is currently unreachable.

What I do know is that Wholesale Internet is also in the same building, and their network is not reachable as well (I tried accessing their website).

I'm thinking it may be a provider issue, but not a power issue as my notification server (hosted in that datacenter) is still seemingly getting emails out to me. I believe that the internal network is still properly functioning, because my notification server is not releasing any alerts about internal machines, only machines on external networks.

I'm hoping the network re-emerges soon.... these machines run my entire infrastructure and I'd really hate to have to fail over to my backup setup...

I hope all of Oak Tower didn't go down.

I have a server in Joes Datacenter. At the moment it is experiencing 63% packet loss to the pings. I hope it will be fixed soon.

I Thought Only My server is troubling.
Now i am happy Because i don't have to do any thing. I have to just watch. Joe will shoot all troubles. I have trust on Him.

Cogent in Oak Tower had an issue this morning. It affected our website but not the rest of our network. Our website just happens to be hosted on the cogent line at Oak. We pull our customer bandwidth from a different POP.

I had an email notification of Cogent problems today as well. Hope all is resolved now though.
