SolarVM Down

Posted by syvil, 04-17-2013, 10:12 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I ordered a SolarVM AMS VPS last week. The VPS was very fast and responsive. Yesterday afternoon everything went down and now SolarVM.com is down. I have tried emailing, calling their phone number and even sending a Facebook message to them. I see they post here so I'm wondering what's going on?

All I see is a directory listing when I visit their website. You can try PM'ing their rep here on the forums as that may help. There is a specific forum for these types of posts here.

They have a username SolarVM here:

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=436356

Try and PM him.

Unfortunately I do not have permissions yet to send PMs and no other way to contact them other than the methods already attempted.

Looks like their main site may be having some DNS related issues according to a look up, that or their DNS server isn't responding. It could be that they are under a large ddos attack. I am just surprised they keep their main site in the same datacenter, most big providers usually keep their sites in a different datacenter geographically so in incidents like this, their site is still online, which is crucial.

I'd give it some more time just to wait and see if it's resolved or if they happen to check here, sense they're website is offline too post a non-official announcement or something to the sort to inform their customers of the on-going situation...

I just received this message over at LET.

Quote:
hi

company is under new ownership and massmail will be sent soon

sorry
I will be seeking a refund which I'm sure I will not get and possibly a chargeback with my bank. Luckily this was a new setup and I have an offsite backup.

So anyone RELIABLE with good offers in AMS/NL?

"solarvm.com

Welcome! This domain was registered at namecheap.com. Please check back later!"

Please folks post who the new management is so I can avoid them.

No warning email beforehand?
No simple index placement page for their site?
No one from the "company" coming into this thread?

We got scammed you guys, plain and simple. You better start those paypal/bank claims before it's too late. And if they do come back, collect your stuff and cancel, clearly the new "ownership" is a total moron.

The latest response is:

solarvm sent you a message.

no ecatel is just having maintenance

Ecatel will perform some major network upgrades, this will cause some downtime on your servers.
Still no mass email, there was no warning or any official announcements yet. My VPS is still down and I've already moved elsewhere and filed a claim with PayPal. I recommend anyone else hosting with them do the same.

>Still down a week later
>No mass email yet with any information what so ever
>No one from solarvm gives us any info in this thread even though they love spamming this forum with new threads

This "company" is FINISHED. We all got totally screwed over and lost our server data. The same goes for almost every ecatel reseller, just a 1-2 person team of kids who think they can be hosters after figuring out how to install whmcs.
Be wary and do your research with these small time resellers, they've often very incompetent in everything except photoshop.

If you haven't already, issue a dispute against your payments with them before it's too late.
