LATHAM, NEW YORK (April 15, 2013) Sustainable IT solutions provider TurnKey Internet announced today that its data center has reached the elite status of a zero carbon footprint. This is the next installment in its month-long Earth Day campaign, which focuses on raising public awareness of the green IT practices that it has implemented, and the importance of utilizing these sustainable alternatives.

With the addition of its new, comprehensive hydroelectric power service for its SSAE 16 Type II certified data center in Latham, NY, TurnKey Internet is now completely run on renewable power resources. This plan draws from clean, environmentally-friendly hydropower generated from Niagara Falls. It will extend the data centers existing renewable energy consumption to a full 100% of its total power use.

The installation is part of the state-wide ReCharge New York power program. This system was awarded by the NYS Governors Office as a portion of a 910-megawatt allowance to select companies in New York State that qualified for a power allocation. It was approved for TurnKey Internet in recognition of its continual expansion and the job opportunities that it creates within New York. The program integrates directly into TurnKey Internets existing power distribution infrastructure and aids in eliminating its carbon footprint.
