Anyone else experiencing packet loss on wholesale internet network.

One of our server which is there is losing 50% packets and so is their own site from where I see.

No problem here, checking from 3 different locations in USA and Germany gives 100% ping replies and no packet loss at all.

From USA:
Quote:
--- wholesaleinternet.net ping statistics ---
50 packets transmitted, 50 received, 0% packet loss, time 53682ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 10.636/11.323/32.938/3.093 ms
From Germany:
Quote:
--- wholesaleinternet.net ping statistics ---
70 packets transmitted, 70 received, 0% packet loss, time 69861ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 136.437/151.471/157.980/3.702 ms
So it could be a problem with your location or ISP only.

Had this earlier on, about 1 -2 hours ago. I was going to post about in on here, but it corrected itself not long after i noticed it, i'm pretty sure the same thing happened either yesterday or the day before during these times.

Next time it happens i will post traceroutes.

I'm almost 100% sure what's happening is not Wholesale, but rather HE. We had similar issues at the same time. I've seen this problem going on for the past couple off weeks off and on. We have a separate line to HE in the same datacenter. Whenever we have connection issues, I try Wholesale and they're experiencing the same issues. I've asked HE about it and all they can tell me is that it's a DDoS attack in the area.

Strangely it corrected few minutes after I posted.
I noticed it as well a client of mine . Same time I pinged my SL servers and they were connecting properly.

It's likely only an issue with Hurricane Electric in Kansas City. Any other providers or areas would most likely not have the same issue.

If you say it was just a temporary change then either the host "dealt" with it by nullrouting the client under attack or it was not DDoS at all but rather a peering issue with HE as Prisma-Breck sugested.

So it happened again this evening (it actually occurs quite frequently but normally only lasts 10mins or so). When it happened last week it was the same mci*.he.net links which were the issue.

Code:
  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms router [192.168.1.254]

Yup, I can confirm our non-wholesale HE port did the same as well.

Still has the same issue on and off. This time a trace route shows that 216.66.78.90->69.30.209.138 appears to be the issue

Code:
  7 20 ms 17 ms 24 ms 40gigabitethernet1-1.core1.lon1.he.net [195.66.224.21]
  8 89 ms 85 ms 88 ms 10gigabitethernet10-4.core1.nyc4.he.net [72.52.92.241]
  9 109 ms 111 ms 111 ms 100gigabitethernet7-2.core1.chi1.he.net [184.105.223.161]
 10 113 ms 112 ms 111 ms 10gigabitethernet1-1.core1.mci1.he.net [72.52.92.2]
 11 117 ms 124 ms 112 ms 10gigabitethernet1-1.core1.mci2.he.net [184.105.213.2]
 12 121 ms 121 ms 111 ms wholesale-internet-inc.10gigabitethernet1-3.core1.mci2.he.net [216.66.78.90]
 13 111 ms 111 ms * 69.30.209.138
 14 * * * Request timed out.
 15 * * * Request timed out.
Getting approx 50% packet loss on both servers

Code:
    Packets: Sent = 43, Received = 14, Lost = 29 (67% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 110ms, Maximum = 121ms, Average = 113ms
