****** customer support, Ive been waiting for over a week for 3 servers to be setup. They started limiting ports and try to convince everyone they are not. Advertise 1000Mbit unshared when in reality they cap you at 400-500 Mbit and tell you its your fault. Graphs dont lie buddy

Posted by hyutars, 07-03-2013, 06:56 PM
Yeah Ecatel is down, and without any explain.

For me, they never capped my port. I could go 750Mbit anytime but could not go over because my business isn't big.

I use streamer's plan.

Sometimes they have network problem and won't go over 200Mbit at offpeak. but it is about less than 30 mins. so it doesn't seem they cap the port on purpose because I never saw port cap during peak.

come on, you can't find any other provider offer that speed and traffic with the budget we spend. most of them are lie.

It happen almost everyweek. Search "ecate down" or "ecatel offline" at webhostingtalk, in May/June and now July they down a LOT.

This is the only reason i have not switched as well but at this current rate of intermittent downtime i cannot maintain clients and the lack of having a functional support site when there DC is having issues also very unprofessional and frustrating.

Its not that hard to send out an email to your clients as soon as you notice an issue yet to this day i have yet to see such thing happen when an unannounced issue happens

been looking for awhile for a comparable host for awhile even if i moved a few servers to another one at least all my eggs aren't in one basket.

Would be nice to get a response from their support via the forums at least.

I shouldve backed up recent files to the back up server today but I fell a sleep
aww this is insane..!! it is way too long time offline.

I should back up everyday.

Most people here use ecatel because of spoofing ability lol

leasweb is stable but they will bend over backwards to BREIN about dmca so if thats what your looking to avoid leasweb is not where you want to be.

Google it

I'm still looking tbh if i had found someone comparable in prices and freedom of speech i would have moved my collocated stuffs already lol.

Its unfortunate that host that respects freedom of speech so well and doesn't bend over for stupid reasons cant also maintain a solid network granted the prices are more then reasonable and i never cared when it was only for my personal server stuff but now that i run a complete host its hard to explain away all the unexplained downtime consistently for my clients.

Thankfully most of my clients are also here for the same reason and understand with great freedom comes unexplained downtime on occasion :/

lol, not this one, worldstream is the one forced me to move to Ecatel a few months ago. WorldStream is NOT DMCA free.

But it's weird, some big manga websites still can run on LeaseWeb, why do they not have any DMCA problems?

Yeah I'm seriously DONE with Ecatel at this point. 8+ hours of downtime every time they go down is just disgraceful. People that run a "business" like this should not in business at all. Any other hosts you can suggest that are relaxed about DMCA would be helpful.

Edit: Also the fact that they can't spend one minute sending out an email to their customers shows that they really don't give a **** about them - they just want money. No apologies, no account credits, nothing.

lol your right the name rings a bell thats why i didnt use them been awhile

i remember getting a quote here > http://serverius.com/colocation/shared-colocation and it price matched ecatel for what i had currently price wise and they look to be better and stable but i lost the link till now.

You might ask them on their policies i believe as long as its legal in NL its fine as alot of hosts don't care but just wont be blatant or allow you to be blatant about it like Ecatel does

some stuff is back up now

Posted by 2HostCom, 07-04-2013, 05:00 AM
Basically, DMCA is not really the problem in NL. The problem is that most providers don't allow spoofing, while Ecatel does.

If you don't need spoofing, NL datacenters are a good place to be (check offers section).

Worldstream is netherland provider and they did force me to take down content. I think other providers will do the same.

Anyway, no explanation about this down time Ecatel?
