PoundHost Complete Dedicated and Co-located Server Expansion

Maidenhead, UK - Matthew Munson, Managing Director of PoundHost Internet Services (www.poundhost.com) confirmed today that the final piece of the companies expansion plan has now been completed.
The completion of the expansion places PoundHost Internet Services at the centre of the booming Dedicated Server and Co-location market, allowing PoundHost to leverage economies of scale in purchasing and service delivery.

Mr Munson commented: The cost savings we have achieved from bulk ordering, in both server hardware and bandwidth are to be passed directly onto our customers, allowing PoundHost to offer some of the lowest prices in the industry, without compromising on service and support. In fact, weve increased support above other providers by offering as standard; 24h freephone help line directly to our own NOC (Network Operations Centre) staffed by our fully qualified engineers. Of course our support goes further than just a free phone line, but its one of the differentiators in the marketplace.

The expansion itself consisted of two main parts. First, the building of a new Maidenhead based data centre to house over 850 servers, specifically for PoundHosts sole use. Secondly, the upgrade and expansion of our own core network from Maidenhead to London allowing us to utilise at maximum capacity, 2.5Gbps of connectivity. Other important parts of the expansion include log term financial backing, increases in staffing levels and investments in bricks and mortar of the data centres themselves, which many similar companies lack.

PoundHost will shortly release its new pricelist, and Mr Munson commented: Some of our lowest priced servers come with over 250GB of monthly bandwidth, unheard of in the UK market until now, starting at just £xx per month, fully inclusive.

To mark the companys expansion, PoundHost will unveil a new Marketing strategy, which includes sponsorship deals, off and on-line advertising and stands at Internet World 2004, at Earls Court later in the year.

1) PoundHost Internet Services has been in the internet industry for over 7 years, providing services to many different arenas including Government Agencies, to SME and non-profit making charities.
2) PoundHost were the first company in the UK to introduce low cost business grade webspace for £1 per MB (hence the company name), which at the time was unheard of.
3) Further expansion into the Eastern European server market is scheduled to take place towards the end of 2004, with a new POP opening in Budapest, Hungary.
