Provide Support Releases Chat Software Update

New York, NY - March 1, 2005 - ProvideSupport.com, an online chat-hosting service, announces the release of its latest software version, 3.1.0.

One of the issues fixed by version 3.1.0 is the proactive chat function. Proactive chat is the ability of an operator to initiate a chat with website visitors. This version fixes a problem in which ad pop-up blockers, such as used in the latest release of Microsoft Explorer, were preventing chat invitations from appearing on visitors' computers.

The latest software release also contains a few cosmetic changes. The operator interface buttons have been moved and relabeled to make them easier and more intuitive to use. The appearance of the pop up chat invitation screen is now customizable.

"Version 3.1.0 is more of maintenance release than a bug-fix," says Sergey Skugarev, CEO of Provide Support. "The system already runs pretty fast and smooth. There's very little message lag time." Skugarev says that message lag time is a big problem in chat systems, and many of his current clients switched over to his system after becoming disappointed the performance of competitors' systems.

Provide Support's services are hosted by 1and1.com, one of the largest data centers in the US, which promises 99.9 percent uptime. Skugarev says that the reality is even better than that.
