HostPC Announces second datacenter

I understand there are a few people, maybe perspective clients that are interested in hosting at HostPC - but not necessarily in the Boca Raton datacenter. Today I completed a contract to have active hosting in the SAVVIS LayeredTech datacenter in Ft. Worth Texas on dedicated servers. We've established a small bank of servers there for customers who have hurricane-phobia. We've begun allowing new signups to select which datacenter they prefer - and allowing existing customers to transfer to the new center. All options that HostPC customers enjoy like spam prevention, Zen Site Builder, Installatron, etc are available at BOTH datacenters.

Existing customers who wish to move to the new datacenter will be required to move all their data, update DNS, etc - we can not do that for you. Backups with DirectAdmin are easy - you should be able to backup, upload and restore within an hour - IF you wish to move.

Remember - you are not REQUIRED to move ... I anticipate 95% of our current customers will choose to stay right where they are. There's no real reason to change - unless you really feel that you can't handle another big wind

Let me be perfectly clear, Boca Raton FL will still be our primary datacenter. HostPC has made this their "home base" as I have full confidence in the operations in Florida and their ability to recover from _anything_ Mother Nature might throw at it. Jim and the datacenter team have things WELL under control, and are fully prepared as we head into another hurricane season here in the US in just a couple of months. I have NO INTENTION of leaving the Boca Datacenter! However, some customers who really do not want to host there now have an option.

Right now, there's no servers setup for resellers in the new datacenter, but that is something I will explore in the very near future.

If you have any questions - please ask in our forums, or via email.

Thank you.
