Sale of akashik.net to Hostmatters

We are pleased to announce that Hosting Matters, Inc. has acquired the assets of Akashik.net. Effective immediately, Hosting Matters will provide service, support, and billing functions to all Akashik.net clients.

Rest assured that the changes you will see will be minimal, and will only involve methods of support and billing. Both support and billing will be handled through the Hosting Matters systems. Support can be reached via email to support@hostmatters.com or via the web interface at http://www.hmhelpdesk.com. Billing details for all clients will be transferred from the current system to the Hosting Matters system at https://billing.hostmatters.com. We anticipate that full transfer of billing details will take approximately seven days to complete from the date of this notice.

We understand that you may have questions about changes to your account, and have answered a few of those questions below.

What about my current package and pricing?
The pricing and packages you currently enjoy will remain as they are.

Will I need to make any changes to my domain information?
No nameserver changes are required.

I manage my own DNS. Will I need to make any changes?
If you manage your own DNS settings, no changes are necessary.

Can I upgrade my account to another Akashik package?
We will maintain the roster of Akashik.net packages so that current Akashik clients can upgrade between the same levels that exist now.

I want to order another account using one of the current Akashik packages. Is this possible?
We will set up special ordering URLs so that new accounts using the Akashik plan matrix can be ordered at the same pricing that currently exists.

I want to move to the main Hosting Matters network. Can I do this?
Certainly. Any request to move to the main network will be granted. Please send such requests to support@hostmatters.com, along with your domain name,and we will take care of it for you. Note that moves may not be performed immediately as we finalize all the transaction details of this acquisition,
and that moves to the main network will require a nameserver change.

What can you tell me about Hosting Matters?
Hosting Matters, Inc., was started in May of 2000 after the two owners suffered through a particularly bad hosting experience. The company is privately-owned and has always been debt-free and profitable. The focus of the company has always been on providing superior service to all clients, around the clock. We maintain support coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year and provide live monitoring data for all servers as well as remote emergency forums to ensure that the best possible communication is maintained at all times with all clients. We own all of our equipment, from routers to switches to servers, and with the exception of those items we gained as part of an acquisition of other companies, all of our equipment is located in secured private cages at the Peak-10 facility in Jacksonville, FL, where Hosting Matters is based. As of July 2006, we entered into an agreement with Peak-10 to expand our leased space to almost double our current occupancy, and the buildout of that space was completed in late August.
