Othello Technology Systems Ltd (www.OthelloTech.net), a leading UK provider of domain names, email/web hosting and online services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), today announced that it has acquired DuportOnline US and UK operations (www.DuportOnline.com).

"To move forward, improve, and expand DuportOnline we needed to introduce a new partner. Existing customers were the main priority when selecting a new provider. Othello was chosen because of their commitement to customer support.", said Richard Adams, owner of DuportOnline.

The services to existing customers are expected to be kept at existing levels and already preparations are being made to improve both the shared hosting and VPS facilities offered under the Duport brands. New US servers are being deployed immediately, and the existing UK systems have already been migrated to the Othello DataCentre facilities with no client downtime.

"Our first priority is the catching up of all outstanding support issues, and customer service enquiries. Followed by a rollout of new and improved services across the DuportOnline brand. We should begin our service improvement program within a few days, beginning with extensive hardware upgrades and extending the hosting possibilities for clients." comments Rob Golding, Director Othello Technology Systems Ltd, "For support issues client should use the usual DuportOnline customer support system and one of the Othello or Duport support technicians will get to your issues ASAP."

Future plans for DuportOnline.com already being organised include:
* Upgrades to all existing US servers
* Installation of new UK servers within the Othello DataCentre
* Customer choice on Hosting location (country)
* Replacement Support System with extensive knowledgebase, online server status and improved ticket tracking
* Extended range of VPS and Dedicated Servers options

Othello Technology Systems Ltd are a UK Ltd Company, who have been providing internet solutions through dial-up & dsl services, domain name registration, hosting, dedicated server and colocation services for over 10 years, operating in the United Kingdom, Netherlands and United States, and with customers worldwide.

Even though I'm no longer a customer of DuportOnline it was the most realiable and friend host I've dealt with. I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news to be honest. Richard was always helpful and I hope he remains some part of customer service. My knowledge of these kinds of take overs suggests otherwise though.

I know Othello has a lot more resources at their disposal but I feel like the personal host I've known may become just another number in a big company.

I have no experience with Othello and don't mean any bad word against them but just from some quick research it looks like Othello mainly buy their clients from other companies. I've never really been a fan of being sold to another company who I know not much about and have been happy with Duport all along.

I hope current Duport Online customers don't feel any back latch from this decision. I hope they continue to get the personalised, reliable and friendly service Richard has always given me in the past. I cannot really say one bad word about Duport.
