Dedicated Server Interface: LEAP v 1.2 Beta

Chicago, IL, July 16, 2008: Anyone who has owned a dedicated server knows that the typical hosting provider’s control panel (or portal) interface has not changed much over the past ten years, which provided the impetus for today’s public launch of SingleHop’s LEAP: the world’s first Webtop-style interface allowing users complete management of their dedicated servers.

LEAP (version 1.2 beta) is the worlds FIRST and ONLY Webtop (browser-based desktop) system for managing dedicated servers. This revolutionary new solution was developed in house over the course of a year by SingleHop’s development team, led by Luke Tworek, working with a select group of clients and system administrators. “We designed LEAP to allow clients to manage servers through our interface, just as they can manipulate icons and windows on their desktop, which represents a drastic change from our competitor’s portals,” says Tworek.

“We all live and work in a Web 2.0 world, so why have we been managing our servers the old way? With the introduction of LEAP, our clients will have a fresh, and a more functional way to manage their servers. LEAP is proprietary system that gives our clients full functionality of their servers from without the portal. The most noticeable improvement between LEAP and competing systems is its Webtop, which brings a more modern look and feel to web-based server administration. For example, a user could visually choose a server from their virtual cabinet, view its bandwidth usage and status, or jump directly into an SSH session to work on it and then with the click of a button reboot the machine -- never leaving a browser, never refreshing a page or waiting for the page to load and never having to download anything, such as a remote desktop client, or SSH,” says Dan Ushman, VP and co founder of SingleHop, Inc.

"We spent over a year planning, testing and developing the LEAP interface, during which, we wrote and refined over 25,000 lines of code and beta tested it with a core group of customers. It is like nothing else currently available on the market" said Luke Tworek, Lead Developer and Project Manager.

"We expect LEAP to be popular with clients for a number of reasons. The system overall is a very refreshing change from existing portals, and follows a trend towards more visually appealing applications, and LEAP is more functional to work with. Our immediate goal was to develop a secure system, where a system administrator can perform tasks within our control panel without additional downloads, and perform these tasks in an efficient way. We expect LEAP to play a major role in future client growth, as well as attracting new partners.," says SingleHop President & CEO, Zak Boca.
